Mobile computing – led by advances in smartphones and tablets – has driven growth
in the semiconductor industry. It also poses a significant challenge: to deliver high performance and low power consumption chips in a cost-effective fashion. As a result,
the industry is adopting difficult process technologies and an ever-increasing number
of process steps, adding complexity and cost. Yield enhancement is one of the best solutions to this challenge, and has become a key lever to the semiconductor business model in the mobile computing era. This Entegris-sponsored forum will explore key yield challenges and defect reduction approaches at sub-20 nm nodes from the vantage point
of chip designers, chip manufacturers and equipment/materials suppliers.
The event will begin with a keynote speech, continue with brief overviews from leading foundry, equipment makers, and consumable and chemical suppliers in the industry,
and conclude with an interactive panel discussion.
